Pass Your Septic Test
- Be careful not to overload the system 3 days prior to the test with multiple high volume water usages - normal limited use is acceptable.
- If you want to have the tank pumped, do the pumping at least 30 days prior to the test date and then use the system normally.
- Check all toilet tanks in the home to make sure they are not leaking into the bowl. This can be checked by opening the lid and looking in or listening for water flow. If there is any leakage have this fixed at least 30 days prior to the test and have the septic tank pumped.
- Make sure all pipes that come above ground are marked or visible, this will give the tester more time to analyze the system.
- Shock chlorinate the well to remove other bacteria that may be present and would lead to a resample and more time delay.
